"I first met Pavlos at his uncle's, Anestis Tsakalidis'shouse in 1981. Anestis Tsakalidis was a distinguished opera singer and a very close friend of mine. Pavlo's music that i listened to then and in which there was a trace of jazz music had technical imperfections and was somehow different from my music tastes. Yet, his inspiration as well as the pursuit of great music ambition was manifest.

Having realized his great love of music, his insistence and talent, i decided to help him in his further development as far as possible." "During the next 20 years we met a lot of times and Pavlos, following my advice, improved his composing and performing abilities constantly, increasing his knowledge not only on classical and jazz but also on traditional music.

Listening to his last compositions i am glad to realise that he has become a skilful draftsman who can originally combine classical patterns with jazz improvisation. However, the most precious element in his music is the fact that it is "folk in spirit"since it is related to the Greek tradition."
